Your Excel as a web service
Your other systems can use the spreadsheet directly: a customer portal, an administration system, a CRM. They send the inputs and get the results back, calculated exactly as in the workbook, with no software to build.
Earlier versions keep running alongside the current one, and versioning is bi-temporal. Add a date and the calculation uses the version that applied on that date. The same inputs on the same version always give the same result.

Do we need to change our Excel files?
No. You use your Excel files as is, without a software development project. You upload the file and set it up in a short wizard: how users see it, which cells are inputs and outputs, which cells hold personal data, and who may use it. That usually takes about five minutes. Only if you want large VBA runs to go faster, you can mark loops that may run in parallel with a one-line comment; the file keeps working in Excel as before.
Are the results the same as in Excel?
Yes. Your results mirror the calculations in your original Excel file, so there is no learning curve or risk of discrepancies.
Why not let AI rewrite our Excel as code?
You can, and the code may well be good. But ask twice and you may get different code, so every version has to be checked against the workbook, and from then on the model belongs to IT, who have to maintain and test it. For models the business owns, that is exactly what you want to avoid. AI does help in building the workbook itself, and Excelerant then runs that workbook as it is. More on Excelerant and AI
Does Excelerant run in the cloud or on-premise?
Either. Run on-premise or in the cloud. For really large datasets you can use multiple servers.
How much IT involvement is needed?
Very little. Business users work in the Excelerant user interface without IT involvement. IT involvement is limited to connecting other systems through the REST web service.
How does Excelerant help with governance and compliance?
Every result is logged with who ran what, when and how. Excelerant provides version control, role-based access control, audit trails and built-in GDPR support, so business-owned Excel files fit your standard IT processes.
Where is our data stored and processed?
Where you want it to be. On-premise, Excelerant runs entirely within your own infrastructure: your data never leaves your environment and remains under your own security policies. For a hosted setup, we run a dedicated environment for you in the region of your choice, for example in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU, so your data stays within the jurisdiction you require. Prefer Microsoft Azure? Then we deploy Excelerant in the Azure region of your choice. Because Microsoft is a US company, US law can also apply there.
Can we use Excel files with macros (VBA)?
Yes, as they are. Excelerant runs your VBA as is, without any dependency on Excel, so workbooks with macros need no rewriting. Calculation-heavy VBA is fully supported.
Can we use Excel files that use Power Query?
Yes. Workbooks that use Power Query are supported, so your data preparation keeps working as it does in Excel.
What does Excelerant cost?
